The knee joint consists of three bones - the lower femur, the upper tibia and the cap. They are covered with articular cartilage and, together with the two meniscus (internal and external), the cruciate ligaments (anterior and posterior), collateral ligaments (medial and lateral), joint capsule and detachable muscles form the knee joint.
